Jim Morrison: This is the end?

3 Ιουλίου το 1971... πεθαίνει από υπερβολική δόση ναρκωτικών στο Παρίσι ο θρύλος της ροκ και ηγέτης των "Doors", Τζιμ Μόρισον.

Έτσι γράφουν για εκείνον αλλά... Η πραγματικότητα είναι πως κανείς δεν μπορεί να πει με σιγουριά πώς πέθανε το μεγάλο αστέρι της ροκ. Πριν αρκετά χρόνια στην εφημερίδα ΤΟ ΒΗΜΑ δημοσιεύτηκε ένα αποκαλυπτικό άρθρο για το θάνατο του Τζιμ Μόρισον που τόσο αγαπήσαμε για το γλυκόπικρο ήχο των τραγουδιών του:

"... Επιστρέφοντας στο Λος Αντζελες ο Σίντονς εξέδωσε μια λακωνική ανακοίνωση που πληροφορούσε την παγκόσμια ροκ κοινότητα για τα άσχημα νέα: «Μόλις επέστρεψα από το Παρίσι όπου παρέστην στην ταφή του Τζιμ Μόρισον». Ο Σίντονς όμως δεν είχε δει τον νεκρό Μόρισον, έτσι δεν είναι; Η Πάμελα ήταν σε κατάσταση σοκ και σίγουρα δεν τον είχε δει για ώρες προτού πεθάνει... Ούτως ή άλλως πήρε μαζί της το μυστικό όταν και η ίδια απεβίωσε στις 25 Απριλίου 1974. Οι άλλοι δύο που προσευχήθηκαν πάνω από τον τάφο του δεν μίλησαν ποτέ. Ηταν το ζεύγος φίλων του, Ζακ Ντέμι (ο σκηνοθέτης της ταινίας «Οι ομπρέλες του Χερβούργου») και Αγκνες Βαρντά, ηγερία του παριζιάνικου αντεργκράουντ. Αυτοί οι δύο και η Πάμελα τον είχαν δει για τελευταία φορά ζωντανό το βράδυ της 2ας Ιουλίου 1971. Πού πήγε και τι έκανε μετά και πώς πέθανε τελικά, κανείς δεν το βεβαίωσε με σιγουριά. Ετσι οι φήμες άρχισαν να δίνουν και να παίρνουν. Φήμες που ενισχύονταν και από τις εν ζωή συζητήσεις του Μόρισον για εικονικούς θανάτους, που μάλιστα διάνθιζε και με το όνομα που είχε διαλέξει για μια τέτοια περίπτωση: Mr Mojo Risin..."
